Municipality of Alicia
The municipality of Alicia was formerly a part of the municipality of Margosatubig and located at the southwestern portion of the Province of Zamboanga Del Sur. Its creation into a municipality can be credited to the joint efforts of then Councilors Santiago Babaran, Bernardo Sotto, Head Teacher Teofilo Garcia, Mr. Jeremias Chata, Mr. Jose Basilio, Mr. Celestino Aquino, and Mr. Arcadio Felisario. Their effort were properly rewarded on August 22, 1951, when President ELPIDIO QUIRINO signed Executive Order No. 468 creating creating the municipality of Alicia, named after his wife Mrs. Alicia Syquia Quirino.
Originally, the municipality of Alicia was composed of ten (10) barrios namely: Naga-Naga, Binuangan, Pandan-Pandan, Lutiman, Kawayan, Minundas, Talusan, clarian, Gandaan Suba Nipa.
