Diplahan is situated in the western part of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, more or less seventy two (72) kilometers from the City of Pagadian and approximately two hundred kilometers from the city of Zamboanga, the Regional Center of Region IX. It is bounded on North by the Municipalities of Buug and Bayog, on East by the Municipality of Malangas; and on West and Southeast by the Municpalities of Siay and Imelda The Municipality is specifically located between longitude 0f 122 degrees 55 minutes and 123 degrees East Coordinates and between latitudes of 7 degrees 49 minutes North Corrdinates. Diplahan has a total land area of 15,887 hectares. This constitutes 2.16 percent of Zamboanga del Sur's, 0.85 percent of Region IX's and 0.053 of the Philippine's 30 million.
